Overweight Vehicle Permits

A permit may be required to drive or operate a vehicle on parish roadways and bridges having a total weight in excess of the weight limits outlined in Sections 18-27, 18-28, and 18-30 of the Terrebonne Parish Code of Ordinances.

Permit applications will be evaluated based on the impact of the proposed use on a parish roadway or bridge. This will be used to determine the term of the permit and appropriate permit requirements for mitigation or reparation of damages, such as bonding or insurance.

Applying for an Overweight Vehicle Permit

Step 1

Complete the Overweight Vehicle Permit Application making sure to include the following:

  • name, address, and phone number of the applicant
  • name, address, and phone number of the contact person
  • anticipated duration/frequency of use of roadway(s) and/or bridge(s) on proposed route
  • make, model, and estimated gross weight of vehicles
  • name of responsible party
  • applicant's signature
  • drawings or maps of proposed route (no larger than ledger size)

Step 2

Return the completed application by email, fax, mail, or in person.
