Culvert Permits

Culvert Installation Procedure

Step 1

Apply online or pick up a paper application from the mailbox outside the office at 211 Government Street.

Completed paper applications can be dropped off at the same location. There is no charge for the permit. A technician is sent to the physical location to determine proper culvert size and catch basin locations. The customer is then contacted with the information.

Step 2

Resident purchases culverts then contacts Gravity Drainage to create a work order to have the culverts installed. Gravity Drainage will install culverts up to 36" concrete pipe and 48" corrugated metal pipe. All other sizes will be installed by resident.

Step 3

Gravity Drainage will have the culverts installed and replace any fill material which was removed from the ditch to set the pipe. It is the resident's responsibility to provide any fill material and to build catch basins to complete the installation.

Review the catch basin specifications prior to completing the application.
