What we do
The primary goal of the Office of Community Development (OCD) is to improve the quality of life for the Parish citizens. It consists of three programs that all work together to achieve this goal:
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
- HOME Investment Partnerships Program
- Emergency Solutions Grant Program
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
The Community Development Block Grant promotes the viable development of communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.
HOME Investment Partnerships Program
The HOME Investment Partnership Program is designed to provide local participating jurisdictions with flexible dollars to develop affordable housing strategies specifically targeting low-income residents.
Emergency Solutions Grant Program
The Emergency Solutions Grant Program provides emergency shelter assistance to eligible families at the Beautiful Beginnings Center.
