What we do

The Housing & Human Services Department was created to consolidate all Federal and State funded programs and services that address the needs of low-income families residing in Terrebonne Parish.

Low-income families in need may apply for all eligible services at one location. The Housing & Human Services Department also coordinates with many local nonprofit agencies to leverage resources and to provide assistance to families in need through referrals.

Language Access Plan

The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government (TPCG) Department of Housing and Human Services (HHS) shall provide meaningful access to equitable, timely, and quality language assistance services to individuals with limited English proficiency in its programs and activities.

Things to know

The poverty guidelines for these programs are a simplified version of the poverty thresholds that the Census Bureau uses to prepare its estimates of the number of individuals and families in poverty which change from year to year.

Assistance is granted on a case-by-case basis, and we encourage everyone to apply for all available services if you fall in the salary range.

Some programs are only available to families with children, so read the information provided or contact our office.
