Liquor and/or Beer License Registration
Anyone wishing to sell alcoholic beverages in Terrebonne Parish must apply for a license and pay the license application fee of $25 in addition to any other license fees, permit fees, or other fees for retailers, wholesalers, or dispensers of alcoholic beverages under city, parish, state, and/or federal regulations.
The applicant must contact the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. A business must obtain state and parish liquor licenses to operate within Terrebonne Parish/City of Houma. If the business owner has a spouse, the spouse must submit a record check as per LA R.S. 26:280.
Registration:
Complete all portions of the application packet and return to the Licenses and Registrations Office in Government Tower.
- Review the application process checklist .
- Obtain a Board of Health Certificate.
- Complete the liquor and/or beer application .
- Complete a record check with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office.
- Complete the remedies for collection form and obtain a Sales and Use Tax Certificate from the Sales & Use Tax Department.
- Obtain a certificate of publication of the legal advertisement which appeared in the newspaper indicating the intent to apply for a liquor and/or beer license.
- Obtain proof of ownership or legal lease of the property where the business is located.
- Complete the affidavit stating applicant(s) possess the qualifications set forth in the ordinance .
- Complete the zoning form and obtain approval from the Planning & Zoning Department.
- Complete the location restrictions for on-premise consumption form and obtain approval from the Planning & Zoning Department and City of Houma Police Department.
- Obtain approval that all ordinance requirements are met by the Finance Department.
