The Public Works Department provides a quality environment for the Terrebonne Parish and ensures that the Parish's roadways, drainage, streets, and bridge infrastructure are safe and clean. Specific areas under the Department of Public Works include:

• engineering services for all departments and agencies (except those provided by Department of Utilities)
• supervision of all contract construction work (except those provided by Utilities)
• maintenance of Parish Government property
• mapping and surveying (except those provided by Planning and Zoning)
