Friends of the Terrebonne Parish Library Receives Donation from Pass Christian Public Library

The Friends of Pass Christian Public Library donated $1,600 to the Friends of the Terrebonne Parish Library. The donation was collected through one of the library's months-long Friends of the Library book sales.

The Pass Christian community is well acquainted with hurricanes, and the head librarian, Wendy Allard, expressed how helpful the library was to those who reached out to offer help after Hurricane Katrina hit their community.

"We understand that when things like this happen, everyone wants to give and donate. We want to pay it back and pave it forward," said Ms. Allard.

The proceeds from this donation will be used towards repairing and restoring the library. It is the goal of the Terrebonne Parish Library to have repairs completed as quickly as possible to restore the library and to someday pay it back and pave it forwards to others in need.

The Friends of the Terrebonne Parish Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 1985 that provides fundraising and support for the Terrebonne Parish Library. The Friends group provides funds for programs, arts and crafts, sponsors the summer reading program, trivia contests, Battle of the Books, and other library needs.  The Friends income is generated through dues, book sales, and donations.
