TPLS Announces Read Away Fines Program
Terrebonne Parish Library System announces the Read Away Fines program, which will allow children 14 years old and under to eliminate their fines by reading library materials.
All reading must take place in one of the nine library branches. Library patrons must check in with a clerk at the circulation desk to register. For every 15 minutes of reading, the child will earn back $1.
Children cannot read away the cost of a lost item, read ahead for fines not yet accrued, or read away fines from another patron's card. Children cannot exceed $10 per year.
