The Friends of the Terrebonne Parish Library are proud to host Ms. Geralyn Dunkelman’s Memorial Choice Book Sale, a four-day fundraising event celebrating the life, generosity, and legacy of one of the community’s most devoted supporters.
Ms. Geralyn Dunkelman was a beloved mother, wife, educator, and longtime advocate for literacy and learning. In her memory, her son Andrew recently raised over $1,000 through social media for the Friends of the Library. These generous donations helped bring dynamic summer reading performers to three branches of the Terrebonne Parish Library System.
To honor her impact and the Dunkelman family’s ongoing support, the Friends are dedicating this year’s special sale to Ms. Geralyn.

Join us for our Purple Heart Recipient Day as we honor the brave men and women who have received the Purple Heart for their service and sacrifice. Doors open at 10:00 AM, and we are honored to welcome our guest speaker, COL Aviation USA (R) Bob Mitchell, a two-time Purple Heart recipient. A light lunch will be provided, and admission is free. We hope you'll be part of this meaningful event as we recognize and celebrate our Purple Heart Heroes.

The Terrebonne Parish Library System invites the community to participate in its first-ever Art & School Supply Swap, happening Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Large Meeting Room of the Main Library.
This unique event encourages residents to donate unused or gently used art and craft materials, helping to divert reusable items from landfills while supporting creativity and sustainability in our community. Check out the Facebook event for more information!
